Fort Clinch State Park

Fort Clinch State Park

During your Amelia Island vacation, you might enjoy spending a day in one of our beautiful local state parks, Fort Clinch. Fort Clinch State Park is the site of Fort Clinch, a pre-Civil War fort dating back to 1847. The park encompasses 1,121 acres and is located at the northern tip of Amelia Island, where Cumberland Sound and the Saint Mary's River meet the Atlantic Ocean.

Activities at Fort Clinch include living history programs, Civil War reenactments, campfire programs, guided walks, fishing, swimming and camping. Visitors also enjoy the nature trails, coastal hammock, dunes and a salt-water marsh.

Several of our vacation rentals are conveniently located close to Fort Clinch including The Terraces at Beachside, Fernandina Cay and our long-term rental, The Heroux Town Home.
