Take some time during your Amelia Island vacation to explore the local history through one of the historic walking tours offered on the island. In addition to the various guided tours available, the Amelia Island History Museum is worth a visit. Located in the heart of Fernandina's Historic District, the museum is on the Northeast Florida's most unique cultural institutions, featuring award-winning docents as well as a variety of historical objects and archaeological exhibits. For even more local history, make sure to visit Fort Clinch State Park as well, for some Civil war living history attractions.
